A regional poured-bar survivor.
Academy operated from Albuquerque as a regional smelter and refiner. Its surviving poured silver bars are recognized by chunky molds, bold block stamps, and the irregular cooling character that distinguishes small-batch pours from later precision-minted bullion.
Academy-branded production and later ownership history are less completely documented than government-mint programs, which makes careful physical attribution important. Collector references connect the operation to later ownership through Materion and Scottsdale Mint, while individual bar varieties remain the primary evidence for the brand’s output.
